Radio-Television-Film
Class of 2021

How are you using the skills that you learned at Moody in your current role?

I learned quite a lot about production (set etiquette, roles on set, buzz words, etc.)  which is incredible knowledge when it comes to being on a large set for our shows/movies. The skills I use most are the things I learned about narrative structure, what makes a good script, and how to write coverage. I remember first learning how to write coverage in Intro to Screenwriting & it is a huge part of my day-to-day!

What are some fun projects that you've worked on at Hello Sunshine?

DAISY JONES & THE SIX (March 3rd), TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS (Spring 2023), & THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME (2023)

Were you involved in student orgs on campus?

Zeta Tau Alpha, Young Life

What advice do you have for #TEXASMoody students?

Come into a room being willing! You may not always know all of the answers… but if you are willing and passionate, people are drawn to it. You can’t teach passion! // & Write hand-written ‘thank you’ notes!!

What do you miss most about Moody College?

Endless opportunities to connect with peers that are pursuing similar interests!! The relationships made in classes are SO valuable & worthwhile!

Can you talk about your career path?

I did a Development internship at Rooster Teeth senior year while also having my own business in wedding videography. This unique crossover of skillset (editing/development-storytelling) landed me an internship at Hello Sunshine in the Production Services department in June of 2021 (Though, at the time it was essentially Digital Media/short form video). I interned for one semester then transitioned into the Film & TV department where I interned for another semester, then was promoted to Scriptworm (full-time reader) in January of 2022. In June of 2022, I was promoted to an Assistant, where I am today!

What classes/professors helped the most?

Scott Rice / Script to Screen (taught me so much more than just producing, but life too!!), Stu Kelban / TV Specs, Deb Lewis / Narrative Production, Mark Bernstein / Perspectives of Deafness
